Hi All, in order to serve you better, this page is still under construction,
we thank District 4 for sharing the contents at this moment until we complete our new website. Thank you for the patience.

The Vice President of Membership (VPM) role is a very important responsibility that supports not only the club's sustainability but also the club's growth by ensuring that members and potential members enjoy the benefits of being a part of a Toastmaster's club.

The primary responsibilities of this role involve recruiting new members and retaining current club members. The VPM is responsible for supervising the membership application process by collecting all new membership applications, and dues, and submitting the documentation and fees to the Treasurer for processing.

Serving as a club officer for at least six months satisfies one of the requirements for Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) recognition.

Recruiting Members
A key function of the VPM is to recruit new members to Toastmasters and to the VPM's local club. But how does one find new potential members? The answer is they are everywhere and can be club member's neighbours, friends and family members, as well as community members who are interested in developing their speaking and leadership skills. With the help of the Vice President of Public Relations, the VPM can reach out to potential members by ensuring that club meetings are advertised on places such as the Meetup site, local Craigslist, the club's (and District's) Facebook page, the club's website (which should be updated with the latest information about the club) and flyers or brochures posted around the community. In addition to spreading the word about the club, there are opportunities to reach out to new potential club members through activities such as club members speaking at other clubs, attending district sponsored training and contests and hosting an open house (see below "Forms and Documents" for links and more information)

Membership
The VPM is responsible for assisting new members with the enrollment process. Work with the club's Treasurer to ensure that new member's applications are processed accurately and on time. This includes making sure that any special designations of membership whether new, reinstated, dual or transfer, are accurately recorded, along with any sponsorship (i.e. referral) information.

Retaining Members
The VPM is responsible for retaining current members by ensuring that members are welcomed, informed and encouraged. VPM's should keep track of member's attendance and reach out if a member stops attending club meetings or events. VPM's should help encourage member's growth and continued passion for Toastmasters by keeping them informed of growth opportunities within their club and outside of their club, including mentoring opportunities, support of other clubs, Youth Leadership opportunities and achievements.

In addition to encouraging a members passion, encourage their commitment to themselves by recognizing accomplishments such as awards and leadership when appropriate. We all like recognition for hard work and retaining members involves showing them that you are proud to have them in your club!
