Dear Fellow District 80 Toastmasters
 

On 17 February, Toastmasters International President, Jim Kokocki, DTM announced that to meet the various demands of our current and prospective members,  as per described in his letter,  the Board of Directors made the decision to increase individual members’ dues to US$45.00 from US$36.00 each semi-annual period beginning in October 2016. While we are looking forward to a more exciting advanced learning experience, the change in membership dues will not affect this coming April dues renewal payment. 

 

We recommend for club officers to arrange a meeting to discuss how the increase in membership payment will impact club members and the best adjustment of new membership dues for the club.

 

Some of you may have paid 12 months membership earlier that fall under the next October dues, find out the best adjustment to ensure members continue enjoying the benefits of a Toastmasters program.

 

We hope all clubs to have a smooth transition process with the change of membership dues.  

 

Last but not least please collect April dues as soon as possible; the online renewal payment will be available after 26 February 2016. The earlier renewal and new members application, the earlier we will be recognised with Distinguished club status with minimum membership requirement.

All Clubs, Areas, Divisions and District Distinguished Program status will be shown on the dashboard after 10 April 2016.

亲爱的80区域国际讲演会会友们：

 

今年2月17日，国际讲演会主席卓越讲员孔国基(Jim Kokocki) 在来信中宣布，董事部为了更好地满足现有的和未来的会友们的各种需求，决定从2016年10月份开始提高会员费----从每半年36美元增加到45美元。

我们都在期待更高层次的学习体验，但是，来临4月份的会费，将不受加价影响。

 

我们建议各分会安排召开会议，讨论加价将如何影响会员人数，以及分会将如何针对新的会费率，作出最佳的调整。

 

一些会友在早些时候，也许已经缴交了一整年的会费，跨越今年10月份，分会执委就必须确保会友们如何继续享受到讲演会体系所带来的好处与利益。

 

我们相信所有分会都能顺应这项事非得已的加价，最后，希望各分会尽早收取4月份的会费。

 

从2016年2月26日起，大家可以在网上更新会籍，新旧会友越早缴费，有关分会将越早达到卓越分会的目标。

  

2016年4月10日过后，国际讲演会的网站将显示所有分会、分区、区际和区域，在朝向卓越目标前进的道路上，已经达到哪一个的里程碑！

District Director's Chinese New Year Message
February 2016

 

Dear Fellow Toastmasters,

Wishing you a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year! May you have happiness, good health and success all year round and that your life be free of worry and fear too!

At this point, I am pleased to update you District 80’s performance as follows:

Singapore (as of 2016-01-31)

 

Though 5 clubs have yet to pay the October dues, we are grateful to the three community clubs’ leaders for the commitment in ensuring that their clubs are in good standing before the next dues date of March 2016.
As for the other two corporate clubs, despite the on-going restructuring of the company, we are still working with the management and hope that they will continue their respective Toastmasters clubs for the benefit of their employees.

 

In January, we, the District Trio, attended the Mid-Year Training in Auckland, New Zealand together with 10 other District Trios from Regions 12 & 14. We are thankful to Toastmasters International for the opportunity to learn and share with the other District leaders; it was another eye opener where we discussed our challenges in our roles as the District Senior Leaders. This term, I have the privilege to be invited in conducting the New Members Induction Ceremony for some clubs. These clubs are facing challenges in reaching their membership goals and yet, the clubs’ leaders are committed to deliver results before the end of the term. I salute their never say die spirit. I was also invited to be the General Evaluator at some clubs’ meeting and although these clubs are already healthy and strong, they carry the past year’s legacy to do well as they continue in working hard to achieve quality club meetings.

With all these club visits I conducted, one thing is for sure, we have fabulous club leaders who are always looking for improvement to better serve their members and to expand their club membership as well. With the District’s motto, I am convinced that our clubs will make District 80 proud by end of our term! Keep Up with your good work!

亲爱的会友们：

首先要向大家说声：新年快乐、万事如意！
金猴年幸福连年、身体健康、事业成功！生活无忧无虑、无怨无悔！

猴年伊始，我向大家汇报80区域的表现如下：

虽然还有5个分会尚未缴交10月份的会费，可是，我们还是十分感激三位民众俱乐部领导人承诺在2016年3月缴费截止日期之前付清会费，确保相关的俱乐部没欠会费。至于另外两间由企业成立的分会，尽管有关的公司正在进行重组，我们仍在跟相关的管理层人员一起努力，希望他们为了照顾雇员的福利，会让各自的讲演会继续发展下去。

今年一月份，80区域的三位主要负责人，连同来自12地区和14地区其他10个区域的三大巨头，在新西兰的奥克兰参加年中培训。我们感谢国际讲演会组织给我们提供这个机会，跟其他区域的讲演会领导人互相学习和共同分享，同时切磋了区域高层领导人面对的挑战。有关讨论会，再次令我们大开眼界。

我担任本届区域总监期间，有幸受邀为一些分会主持新会员入会仪式。
这些分会为了达到增员目标，面临严峻挑战，可是，分会的领导人都下定决心，要在本届结束前，取得优良绩效。这种永不言败的精神，令我肃然起敬。我也受邀到一些分会担任总评论，虽然这些分会已经健康地茁壮成长，但是，会友们仍义无返顾，继续拼搏，要使每一次的例会都保持良好的素质！
访会工作，令我感触良深，我看到出色的分会领导人，总是想尽办法，一方面给会员们提供更好的服务，一方面还在努力增员。
我坚信，在“会员至上” 这句座右铭的感召下，到本届结束时，大家必定会为80区域所取得的成绩而感到无比自豪，会友们继续努力，不断加油吧！
