My song for Patrick:

Patrick has shown very consistently his commitment and dedication to Toastmasters. His sincere and friendly mentoring or assistance or guidance to younger toastmasters is very evident to many. What a way to show our appreciation for his unfailing efforts in Toastmasters and yet capitalise on his strengths to further promote Toastmasters, by electing into the office of LGM.

I hope that all in District 51 join me to welcome him as LGM with open arms.

"I first came to know DTM Patrick Oei late 2002, when he came to our Raffles Town Club to give a demonstration of the Toastmasters, with ATM-S, AL Susan Wong. He brought his laptop and was full of charge and warmth. He took pains to explain to us what TI was all about and how we could benefit from TI's activities. He was in his usual unassuming and modest character, in my view. We asked many questions, including some incisive ones, but he was all in his cool self, unfazed.

I was convinced, and so were others who were present at that first
meeting, first encounter. Patrick went ahead to email to me, all the relevant information and data about TI, and guided us to prepare our first Demo Meeting @ Raffles Town Club. On February 19, that Demo was held.

Could I say it was an instant success? There were 72 attendees and 29 of them signed on their declarations to become the Charter Members. This spontaneous response was very encouraging. The Club was chartered in mid April, and we are now holding our 6th Chapter Meeting.

Patrick was quick to give advise, assistance and encouragement. He was a pro-active person indeed, a highly valued trait in this kind of voluntary organization in particular, as none is financially compensated. But Patrick knows of the enormous rewards in terms of grooming successive generations of the Toastmasters, nurturing the high degree of continued interest and participation, pushing those who are ahead of the pack, and motivating all to be involved in some ways with TI. This is really what Marketing is all about, and so is apt for Patrick to take on this role as LG-Marketing.

Should he assume this role, which I am proudly confident of him, he would be able to help share his ideals and vision, as he stated in his campaign program, to move the goals of TI higher and engender more milestones for District 51 in general, and for the Clubs in particular.

We feel privileged to have come to know Patrick, and know that he will carry the flame of the Toastmasters, to shine every nook and corner of the District 51 world! His vision is bright, sunny and omnipotent."

Dear Toastmasters,

Here is a Toastmasters, in deed and heart. DTM Patrick Oei, a Toastmasters we can admire of his capabilities, and activities; from whom we can learn a lot in Toastmastering.

What I like most of him is, he is as well a warm and kind friend. A person with a nice personality. A Friend you can rely on. Helpful, and gladly to make time for you personally, he is always available to give a hand. Hence, support him, in his quest to serve as LGM.

Hi DTM Patrick,
 
You are definitely the right person to be the LGM for 2003/04.
 
As we can see over the last few meetings, you are always there to guide and help us and spend your invaluable time with us.
 
I am extremely impressed especially when you can round up all the table topics and connect them together with sincerity and dedication.
 
Patrick, you deserve to be our LGM and I look forward to many, many years you working as the highest level a Toastmaster can have and scale greater heights!
