I have known Michael Wee DTM since 1993 when I just joined the toastmasters movement. He was then the VPM of  NCOC1 Toastmasters Club. The club was later renamed Tampines Changkat TMC.  He is a member of one club from the day I have known him till now. We became Club Presidents, Area Governor & Division Governors on the same terms although of different club, area & division.

He is a very reliable person who never fails to deliver his promise. Hence, he is a well sought after evaluator, general evaluator, contest judge & chief judge. During the year when we were division governors, we organised TI Day dinner together with Lynn Desker DTM who was then Division D Governor.

In fact, we initiated to have the mandarin division to join us in the TI Day celebration dinner. He is a very committed toastmaster who even extended the benefits of toastmaster to students. I was very impressed with his enthusiasm in forming gavel clubs for students below 18 years old when he was Division S Governor then.

He is the first toastmaster to form gavel club in Singapore and has formed a number of them like the  Tampines Junior College Gavel Club, the first Gavel Club in Singapore. Michael is well liked & respected by the toastmasters because he is sincere, committed & warm.

All the best to you, Michael.

Clara Chang DTM
Division B Governor (1999-2000)

I am deeply indebted to the Distinguished Toastmaster, Michael Wee, who, being the trainer and coordinator of the first run of speechcraft program, has given a great deal of assistance to Kowloon-Singapore Toastmasters Club.

Michael is one of the best articulate and passionate candidates I have ever seen. I especially like how he presented a motivational speech about a man who was working tirelessly to give a new lease of life to starfishes, which were washed ashore. In this speech, he likened starfishes to people at large who have yet to gain the life-changing experience in toastmasters.

Besides, he always deliver on his promises. He is a person we can count on.

I hereby endorse him all the way to be the next Lieutenant Governor Marketing 2005-2006 in District 80.

I have known Michael Wee since joining Toastmasters in May 1997

He is a humble, unassuming, dedicated and committed Toastmaster.

He has sacrificed much, selflessly and unselfishly, for the organisation.

He has contributed much, his experience and time, to numerous Toastmasters clubs and the district.

He has conducted numerous Speechcrafts, is instrumental in setting up many Gavel Clubs and assisted in many Toastmasters events.

He played a significant role towards the growth and development of fellow Toastmasters.

He is not known to say no when approached to assist at any level in Toastmasters activities.

Michael is not one seeking fame, popularity nor personal glory; not one craving for limelght, but to serve Toastmasters at large.

I have seen Michael Wee in action.  I have heard his evaluation of speeches by project speakers.  It was direct, measured and encouraging. I did not have the slightest doubt about his communication skills.

I came to know this gentleman better when I was the Area Z1 Governor 2003-2004. I found him approachable and helpful.  He would not turn you down if he could help out.  I love his character - always committed and reliable.

The Toastmasters movement will benefit with Michael Wee, DTM as Lieutenant General Marketing.

"The TI movement is to help men and women to improve their communication and leadership skills, which are vital for self-actualisation. We need quality clubs to help sustain the Movement; we need quality leaders to build good clubs. Additionally, we need leaders who believe in this mission and also to be able to drive this club building movement!

Michael Wee is one of the few Toastmasters whom I have known since 1998, who possess this drive to build clubs, spread the benefits of the Toastmasters Program and to continue the legacy of the Founder, Dr Ralph C Smedley."

It is my sincere pleasure to endorse DTM Michael Wee as a candidate of Lt Governor Marketing for the year of 2005-2006.

To me, Michael = Passion in Toastmasters.

In fact, he was one of the most committed members who helped in chartering our Mandarin Club in Tampines Changkat.

I believe with his passion, willingness to help and creative ideas, it will definitely lead district 80 to a tremendous growth in club and membership to make District 80 as another distinguished district next year.

At Toastmasters we learn to speak, lead and observe people at meetings. The few times I have observed DTM Michael signaled to me an impression I still hold till this day. Mind you, I have visited 36 Toastmasters clubs in Singapore and Malaysia, since I joined the movement in February 2003. He is one who has a distinctive and exemplary personality. When he speaks, especially as an Evaluator, the audience will normally be completely silent, still and highly anticipative.

His words are always weighty, mighty and yet measured, in diction, tempo and precision. He is always a joy to observe and listen to. He is an un-obtrusive person meticulously dressed for any assigned role at all times, leaving little to chance.

When you have DTM Michael Wee present either in name on an agenda or in person at meeting, you could count on the quality of a chapter meeting. He advises clubs to give him time to prepare for a role and humbly declines an invitation if he probably could not perform at his best. Such a shining star that I have known of DTM Michael should be no doubt in my mind capable of discharging his peak performance and in the wider District’s role as LGM for District 80 for the new term, and enthused all those who will have the privilege of working with him in his team should his aspirations come to fruition.

Who else but DTM Michael should I have in my mind as next LGM?

Michael Wee, DTM, is a Leader by example.  He has led many

Toastmasters and College Students to successfully achieving their goals.  He is the Sponsor and Mentor of many Clubs both English and Mandarin.  I have always admired his perseverance and commitment to Toastmasters.

Michael is well-known in other Toastmasters Clubs where he has given many speeches, talks and evaluations.  Having a passion for Toastmasters, he has made his mark by becoming a Distinguished Toastmaster.  As Area S4 Governor, he was awarded the President Distinguished Area.  He was also the Past ‘S’ Division Governor 1999/2000 and District 51 Division Governor of the Year 1999/2000

Michael Wee for the post of Lieutenant Governor Marketing (LGM).

I strongly recommend him.   He is the man for the job.   I urged all of you to do likewise.  You will never regret.

Past Division B Governor

DTM Michael Wee has been supporting and mentoring our Club since its charter 2 years ago. Through his commitment, he helped built a fledgling club to what it is today - achieving President’s Distinguished Club Status on the first year, established and ensuring a high standard of meetings and interests which helped expand membership from 23 to more than 40, and creating a reputation in the division/area as one of the most active and lively club, a club even other clubs talk about!

We find DTM Michael Wee to be very dedicated, knowledgeable in the Toastmasters Movement. We learned much through his exemplary presentations and constructive feedbacks. He is indeed the role model of a Toastmaster we wish to emulate.

We unreservedly support and recommend DTM Michael Wee to be nominated as the LG-Marketing for Term 2005/2006.

Sng Hee Meng, President – Yokogawa Toastmasters Club

I strongly support DTM Michael Wee as the candidate of Lt Governor Marketing for the term 2005 / 2006. In fact, he is the best candidate for the post as no other candidates can even compare to what he has contributed to Toastmasters.

I really have to applause his leadership skill especially his initiative to help the weaker clubs to grow. When I was the President of Tampines Regional Library Toastmasters Club in year 1998/1999, Michael came forward to help the club unconditionally. The club benefited from his great leadership skills and grew into one of the strongest clubs in Singapore.

Michael also spent a great effort in helping and supporting me when I was the Area A2 Governor for the term 2003 / 2004. He offered his most valuable experience and guided me into achieving the first President Distinguished Area in Division S. I am very fortunate to be able to tap on his greatest power, his "leadership skills".

In my 8 years in Toastmasters, I have witness so many District Officers performing their duties as specified in the manual. However, I am very sure that DTM Michael Wee will contribute more than it is required, because this is his character "going an extra mile".

I strongly support and urge everyone to nominate DTM Michael Wee as the LG Marketing for the term 2005 / 2006.
