TAM ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION TOPIC: How joining a Toastmasters Club has made a significant difference in my life
This year the TAM Organising Committee is embarking on an islandwide promotion and publicity on the Toastmasters movement with the theme: "Come & Discover! Toastmasters and The Family". With this we hope to reach out to all schools, business organisations, families and the community at large.
On behalf of the TAM Essay Writing Competition Sub-Committee, I invite fellow toastmasters to participate in this novel competition. The objective of this competition is not only to create awareness, but also to bring the benefits of joining a toastmasters club to the general public. It also provides fellow toastmasters with an opportunity to discover their ‘hidden’ talents and 'creativity'. Toastmasters wear many hats and excel not just in speaking, thinking, leading and learning. but also in 'writing'.
A panel of distinguished judges has been invited to select the top five winning entries and ten consolation prize entries for this competition. The winners will receive attractive prizes, which include trophies, hampers, books and other prizes sponsored by fellow toastmasters and well-wishers. In addition, the winning entries will be exhibited during the two-day highlights of Toastmasters Awareness to be held on 17-18 April 2004 at the Singapore Discovery Centre. We will also publicise the winning entries in our websites and other publicity materials.
To encourage participation, there will also be 10 Lucky Draw prizes to be won.
