Area Governor welcome all attendees and thanks for their very supportive efforts and times, as it is not common and easy for the Area Governors to call for Area Council Meeting, and even have the 3rd meeting, according to AG S4 Jackson.

Minutes of Last Meeting

-          Minutes of last meeting were confirmed.

-          AG has given the summary of report on the last Humurous & Evaluation speech contest to Club Presidents for their information and future reference.
Summary: Total 78 Attendance of which 38 paid attendance, with total balance of $146.50.

Clubs Contests Preparation

Date – tentative 22 Mar 04 , SIA to check availability of Venue, possible any date on 4th week
Contest Chair – Poh Kim Siong DTM
Contest Chief Judge – Clara Chang DTM (to replace James Tan, as the contest date crashes with his Area Contest), all Judges have been appointed.

–         in charge of Contest programme

–         would prepare the Certificates for participants, winners, appointment holders and Trophies (sponsored by Division D)

–         appoint Contest Chair & Chief Judge and 2 Tally Counters for confidential reason as pointed up by LGM

–         in charge of on-line registration and marketing to external club members

-       Stage setting up, hanging of Clubs Banners and display of trophies at stage),

–         Arrange dinner for 50 persons, and to advise if it is chargeable, estimate about 15 payable members, others are appointment holders and contestants who are FOC.

–         Appoint 1 each for Timer and SAA

-       bring additional set of Timing device and colour flip card and stop watch
 

General

-          4 Club Presidents would help to promote and invite members and Guests to the contest.

-          Singapore Tamil and Radin Mas are required to submit names of contestants 2 weeks before the Contest.

-          AG recommended all Clubs to bring their Clubs Flyers to promote their Clubs during the Contest, as there would be non-TMs attending our Contest. The Clubs can invite their potential members to attend too.

Club Success Plan (CSP)

Club Presidents have reported their clubs DCP reports; it was very encouraging from the commitment of each Club.

-          Lion City – targeting to achieve 9 Goals to become Presidents’ Distinguish Club

-          Radin Mas – targeting to achieve min. 5 Goals to become at least the Distinguish Club

-          Singapore Airlines – targeting to achieve 9 Goals to become the President Distinguish Club  

-          Singapore Tamil – targeting to achieve 10/10 Goals to become President Distinguish Club  

All Club Presidents would monitor closely with their Clubs Goals and DCP and submit their application of CTM, CL and ATM as early as possible due to the slow administration procedure from TI.

AG has given Lion City and SIA to-date – 5 nos. of 18K Gold Plated TI Key Chain  for their presentation to their total target on 4 CTM and 1 ATM in each club

-          The First 8 goals in ASP are achievable looking at the DCP reported by Club Presidents.

-          As for 9th Goal, LGM and Division D Governor, Michael Rodrigues will be helping our Area to charter a new club, probably Singtel

-          All members were very excited to hear that Area D1 could become a President Distinguish Area.

Challenges/Problems within the Club

Our Advisors, Gea Band Peng, Patrick Oei, Poh Kim Siong, David Chee and AG have given their recommendation on how Club membership and attendance can be improved:

-          to include special talks in the meeting programme

-          to include a Theme in each meeting

-          to encourage members to visit other clubs to learn and gain more experience so as to help their own clubs

-          it is advisable that Club Presidents and/or Club Officers to contact members personally to invite them to the meeting

11th PANSEA Annual convention to be held in Penang, Malaysia

-          May 27-30, 2004

-          SIA has registered 5 members

-          LGM mentioned that it is a rare occasion where the District 51 will be split into 2 Districts but meeting in the same Convention.

New Area Governor

-          AG invited those who interested to serve as AG to come forward

-          Gea Bang Peng stated that there is no minimum qualification for AG, but he or she must have the passion with his or her duties as an AG.

New alignment of Areas

-          AG informed that due to more new Clubs been and going to be chartered, there would be new Area and new alignment based on localities according to Division Governor, Michael Rodrigues.
