Denki Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, the parent company of DENKA SINGAPORE Group, was established in 1915. It pioneered the Japanese chemical industry and expanded to become one of the leading carbide and calcium cyanamide producers in Japan. DKK moved into the organic synthetic chemical industry in the carbide-acetylene area after the Second World War, rapidly becoming a fore-runner in meeting the new demands of the era. By continuing to expand its cement business activities, and in 1963 entering the petrochemical field, it succeeded in becoming a general chemical company.

As DKK Intends to remain as a leader in the chemical industry of the twenty-first century, it is making every effort not only to meet but to anticipate society's future needs. In doing so, DKK had established certain subsidiaries all over the world. Finding that there is a potential of expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, Singapore was chosen to be one of the branches for DKK.
